U.S. History – Social Studies

Welcome Parents!

My name is Mr. Covarrubias and I am your child’s Social Studies teacher this semester. I love U.S. history as well as teaching and I am constantly looking for new ways to challenge the students. Please know that I understand the importance of preparing our students for the STAAR test, the AP Test, and college. I have high expectations and standards that I will express to each student, and I am committed to providing my students with a quality education. I believe that communication with parents is crucial. Know that I am here to listen to any concerns that might arise throughout the year; I’d be happy to talk with you.

I expect my students to be on time, and be prepared for the day’s activities and discussion. Please be informed that we have a policy for late work and no cell phone use is allowed in the classroom. I also adhere to the dress code and behavior guidelines. I have shared this information with my students. I would like for my students to understand that deadlines matter. I am in your child’s life every day; it’s my goal to make a powerful and positive impact. I can promise you the best of myself for your son and daughter, each day. 1^st Period – U.S. History 8:30-10:00 am

2^nd Period – AP U.S. History 10:05-11:25 am

Lunch 11:30 am – 12:00 pm

3^rd Period – U.S. History 12:05-1:25 pm

4^th Period – AP U.S. History 1:30-2:50 pm

5^th Period – Conference 2:55-4:15pm
