Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Welcome Parents! My name is Mrs. Canales and I am your child’s CTE teacher this semester. I have 20 years of teaching/ training experience. I love teaching and I am constantly looking for new ways to challenge the students. Please know that I understand the importance of preparing our students for college. I have high expectations and standards that I will express to each student, and I am committed to providing my students with a quality education. I believe that communication with parents is crucial. Know that I am here to listen to any concerns that might arise throughout the year; I'd be happy to talk with you. My content is literature and hands-on practice; we'll be focusing on several software applications depending on the class.

My Principles of Audio/ Video Technology and Communications and the Digital Media class will teach students employability skills, job readiness, and graphic design. I expect my students to be on time, and be prepared for the day's activities and discussions. Students will be using a textbook that is to be left in the classroom. Please be informed that we have a policy for late work and no cell phone use is allowed in the classroom. I also adhere to the dress code and behavior guidelines. I have shared this information with my students. I would like for my students to understand that deadlines matter.  I am in your child's life every day; it's my goal to make a powerful and positive impact.
