Hello and welcome to my classroom. I graduated from Martin High School in 1985 and from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1989 with a BA in Political Science. I have been teaching at United South High School for 29 years. I teach College Prep.   In my classroom, students are academically engaged.  There is excellent classroom management with continuous, positive reinforcement.

This course is designed to foster growth in the students' knowledge and comprehension of college.  Students will be able to complete the requirements for entrance into college and scholarship applications through investigation and systematic research.  Students will acquire effective communication skills to formally interview with scholarship committees, postsecondary institutions, and financial aid personnel.  In addition, students will enhance their learning by preparing for higher education after high school by physically creating a portfolio of scholarship applications, college applications, resumes, cover letters, personal essays, community service and awards.
