WELCOME TO SCIENCE

Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the Advanced Physics class at United South High School! I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey with you as we explore the fascinating world of physics.
This course will challenge you to think critically and apply scientific principles to understand the natural world around us. We will delve into topics such as mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, and modern physics, all of which are fundamental to a deeper understanding of how the universe operates.
Here’s what you can expect from this class: We will cover a wide range of topics that will prepare you for further studies in science and engineering. The course will include both theoretical lessons and hands-on experiments to solidify your understanding. You will have the opportunity to work with your peers on projects and experiments. Group work is an essential part of learning in this class, and I encourage you to engage with each other, share ideas, and collaborate on problem-solving. Physics is not just about memorizing formulas; it's about understanding the concepts behind them. We will focus on developing your problem-solving skills, which are crucial for success in both academic and real-world scenarios. I am here to support you throughout the course. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need help with the material. Additionally, I will provide resources such as study guides, practice problems, and additional reading materials to aid your learning.
As we begin this academic year, I encourage you to approach this course with curiosity and a willingness to learn. Physics can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding, and I am confident that with dedication and hard work, you will succeed.
I look forward to a fantastic year of discovery and learning together.
Warm regards,
Jorge L. De La Garza
