Welcome to my page! My name is Fanny Alamilla, and my students call me Ms. Fanny or Ms. A. This Fall 2024 semester I am teaching two Securites & Investments classes and two Accounting 1 classes. It is my second year teaching at United South High School. I am thrilled to bring my students real life experiences and scenarios in each and every class I teach.

Securities & Investments

In Securities & Investments class, students will understand the laws and regulations to manage business operations and transactions in the securities industry. Students invest a fictitious $100,000 in the Stock Market Game that is linked to real-life U.S. Stock Market and they journal and record transactions to see what are the trends of the market and whether it is worth the risk to invest in certain industries. Students learn how to invest in stocks, bonds, mutual bonds, etc. This information is useful for them when they want to invest on stocks in the future.

Accounting 1

In Accounting 1 class, students will investigate the field of accounting, including how it is impacted by industry standards as well as economic, financial, technological, international, social, legal, and ethical factors. Students will reflect on this knowledge as they engage in the process of recording, classifying, summarizing, analyzing, and communicating accounting information. Students will formulate and interpret financial information for use in management decision making.
