Grading Guidelines

Grading Guideline

Please refer to Syllabus for more details.

Assessment Breakdown:

  • 50% Assessments: This category includes tests, quizzes, major projects, and interactive notebooks. These assessments are designed to evaluate your understanding of key historical concepts and your ability to apply them.

  • 25% Daily Work: This includes individual practice assignments, in-class activities, and homework. Daily work is essential for reinforcing your learning and building the skills needed for assessments.

  • 25% Nine-Week Exam (Midterm/Final): This exam will assess your cumulative knowledge and understanding of the material covered during the nine-week period.

Late Work Policy:

  • Assignments are due on the date specified. Late work will incur a penalty of 10 points per day for up to 3 instructional days. After the third day, the assignment will receive a zero.
  • For excused absences, students have the same number of days they were absent to submit their work without penalty. It is the student’s responsibility to arrange for makeup work.

Make-Up Tests/Quizzes and Redemption:

  • Make-up tests and quizzes must be completed during designated tutoring hours within one week of the original test date.
  • No retests will be given; however, students may complete a redemption assignment for up to 70% credit. Redemption must be done outside of class time.

Tardy and Attendance Policy:

  • Students must be on time and present in class when the tardy bell rings. Repeated tardiness will be addressed according to school policy.

Grading Philosophy: Grades are a reflection of your learning and progress. My goal is to help you understand where improvement is needed and how you can achieve it. Let’s work together to make this year successful!
